The origin of french fries
The great discovery of the french fries took place in Belgium in the middle of the 17th century.
In a village near Liege, the locals used to fry very small fish and eat them.
But in a severe winter when the rivers were frozen and fishing was impossible, someone had the brilliant idea to cut the potatoes in the shape of small fish and fry them.
And this idea created the french fries that we all enjoy!
